Indian Chat Pair (Birds in BHU)

The Brown Rock Chat or Indian Chat (Cercomela fusca) is a bird in the chat (Saxicolinae) subfamily and is found mainly in northern and central India . It is often found on old buildings and rocky areas.

It gets its name from the red whisker patch located below its eye.

Local names include Turaha pigli-pitta in Telugu, Sipahi bulbul in Bengali, Phari-bulbul/Kanera bulbu in Hindi.
